Hiking & Pseudo-Fathers Day

We decided to have our own Father's Day on the last weekend I was in Kimberley as Brad was down. Logan was at work during the day, but Brad and I went on a hike...

We had a lovely father-daughter bonding moment at the beginning of the hike as we both took a couple of puffs off my nasty-tasting inhailer (next time I am so getting the brand name one). Asthma buddies!

It was a gorgeous day, and though there were some threatening clouds about, and the sound of thunder, it did not rain on us at all.

Due to a) Myrtle Mountain having a rather ridiculous trail system and b) someone being a very bad navigator, our trip to the top ending up being very long and winding (though still gorgeous).

We stopped at this log for quite a bit due to the fact that I largely couldn't breath anymore. At the point where dad was asking if I was okay and I couldn't get enough air to actually answer and was just waving at him was when he (smartly) decided to make me stop for a bit.

The view from the top was totally gorgeous! You can see all the threatening clouds mentioned earlier.

All in all we spent three hours on the mountain on what was a very nice hike - and only about five minutes from Logan's house to the trailhead!

There were loads of people out and about on the mountain, quite a few on bikes.

Once Logan got home from work, we picked up some pizza and slushies for dinner and then watched Terminator 2. I don't want to brag or anything, but I think it was a pretty awesome Father's Day.

  1. It was so great that Brad had both children with him to celebrate an early Father's Day! He does love a good hike. ;)
