FRIENDSHIP

Though I was a bit pressed for time while home, I did drive up to Airdrie twice to see some friends. And drink a lot of coffee. On Friday I drove in and met Graeme, and also went into Good Earth and saw the team - I don't recognize most of the people working there anymore, but there were a few familiar faces still hanging about, and it was really fun to see them! I have to say, working as a barista at Good Earth is still the best job I've ever had, and visiting made me really miss it. Graeme and I grabbed lunch at 5 Guys (yum!) and then I met Sarah for coffee.

One of the things I probably miss the most about Canada is the beverages - they just don't do the same awesome summer drinks in this country, including the Starbucks Passion Fruit Iced Tea Lemonade (above, YUM), slushees, and Arizona Iced Teas. I probably miss all those more than my family tbh (just kidding).

(not really).

Sarah and I then walked all around Airdrie before heading up to CrossIron Mills, where we went into Chapters and were bad influences on each other.

Then I headed into the city, where I picked up Caitlyn and we had dinner at a Vietnamese place near her house, before walking around a park for a bit. It was really funny, when I got to her house, her mum beat her to the door and elbowed her out of the way to hug me first - Caitlyn was not super impressed.

On Sunday the boys went skiing so I headed into the city again, where I met Andrea, a former coworker at Good Earth, for coffee at Good Earth (I had a rooibos vanilla latte - another excellent beverage) were I again recognized none of the new employees, but was impressed by their latte art:

I then met up with Nicole and we hung out for a bit before I drove back down south. All told, it takes about an hour and a half to drive from Christine's farm to Airdrie using Stony Trail (which is awesome to drive on - so much more pleasant than Deerfoot), so two visits about did it for me. It was really good to see people though, and I was happy I got the chance to do so after so long away from home.
