The entire Jones family ventured to a farm belonging to one of my dad's coworkers to see a baby donkey. You can see a picture of my brother with the donkey over on Connie's blog (as well as a couple of other random pictures of our time at the farm).
One of their horses was also the survivor of a cougar attack, which I was pretty impressed by.
Papa Donkey (adopted father, anyways).
Even the adult donkeys looked tiny next to the big horses.
But the baby was definitely the smallest (and cutest).
We also went out to Krista's farm to pick up strawberry plants for the dome - we didn't get to see any of their calves unfortunately, as they were all far out in the pasture.
'Big Blue' was apparently destined for a less than glamorous end, were it not for the intervention of my cousin's daughter, who argued his case, resulting in him living in this pen instead.
There are a couple of very mean ducks in with the chickens at Krista's, who actively bully the chickens, and one hen in particular. They were also very chatty, and chased the chickens around. It was all very odd and entertaining.
