I've been giving myself new manicures on a fairly regular basis lately, partially because my nails are pretty long at the moment and I am enjoying feeling glamorous, and partially because, as part of my "real adult" disguise, I am trying to avoid having really chipped nail polish all the time.
Coincidentally, I have also learned that having gems on my nails is WAY too high maintenance for me.
All of which I thought were pretty fancy, until I started browsing the #nailart tag on instagram and found users such as Jayme (@lacqueredlady) and Sarah (@ang3lwiiings) who are providing pretty serious motivation for me to seriously up my nail polish game.
So, on Wednesday night I looked up a youtube tutorial and attempted ombre nails for the first time.
They actually turned out a lot better than I was expecting and from a distance or at a glance they look crazy impressive. However, lets just say there is a very good reason that there is only a photo of my left hand (my right is much, much less blended). It also didn't take as much time as I thought. Which was cool.
It all looks too high maintenance for me! :P Pretty though. And good to keep them in good repair. Chipped polish does not look very good!
